Spotlight On: Wagamama
From hearty bowls of hot broth to squid with a chilli kick, let’s talk about Wagamama…
From bowl to soul, Wagamama’s Japanese inspired cuisine and casual dining style have been delighting families, students and solo diners noon and night at Princesshay.
Inspired by fast-paced Japanese ramen bars, Wagamama has brought a unique way of eating to high-street dining. With chillies that pack a punch and noodles to nourish, the menu is bursting with fresh Asian flavours to spice up your meal times.
Cooked fresh, Wagamama doesn’t hang around with meals, serving them up as soon as they are ready. For sides, we love the edamame with chilli garlic salt and the delicious crispy fried chilli squid dusted with shichimi.
For main, try the chicken raisukaree – a mild coconut and citrus curry served with rice and sprinkled with sesame seeds. The comforting ramens – hearty bowls of hot broth – will tempt your tastebuds too.
Don’t forget to order a freshly squeezed, pulped and poured juice to accompany your meal. If you’re on a health kick, go for the raw juice, bursting with your five-a-day. There are also plenty of expertly crafted beers to try out too, which perfectly complement the Asian flavours. You can’t go wrong with a bottle of Lucky Buddha.
The dessert menu is packed with traditional desserts with a Japanese twist, such as the white chocolate ginger cheesecake served with a chilli toffee sauce or the popular banana katsu.
We think Wagamama is perfect for dining day or night, and the fun kids’ menu makes it a great choice for families too.
