The big brunch guide

Princesshay is full of fabulous brunch options! You’ll never be stuck for a place to visit on a Saturday morning…

From pancakes and burritos, to smoothies and homemade recipes…

Café Rouge has some great ‘is-this-breakfast-or-is-this-lunch?’ options on the Brunch Menu for lazy weekends. Our favourite is the Potato Hash, topped with your choice of either pulled confit duck and leek; chorizo, red peppers and smoky sun-dried tomatoes; or corned beef and Worcester sauce.

Brunch can be a hard feat for vegans at times, with many places focused on eggs or a traditional meaty full English breakfast. But, you’re in luck with the offering at Carluccio’s! The vegan breakfast of baked borlotti beans with courgette, tomatoes, and spinach is delicious – as are the new vegan croissants!

Fuel up for a day’s shopping with a good, hearty brunch at Coal Grill & Bar. With so much on the menu, everyone’s sure to find something they want to tuck into. The Vegetarian Full English is always a winner, and you get a free cup of tea or coffee too.

Fancy something a bit lighter? Coffee #1 has some supremely healthy smoothies to choose from, including a designated breakfast one. Perhaps pair it with a bowl of porridge topped with blueberries, seeds and maple syrup.

Need brunch in a hurry? Get your morning coffee fix and grab a bite to eat at Costa. You can’t go wrong with a sausage sourdough roll or hot buttery slices of fruit toast.

If you have a sweet tooth, you’ll love the brunch dishes at Giraffe! Push the boat out with the The Blue Banana pancakes – topped with a fruity combo of bananas and blueberry compote. Savoury more your bag? Try the Eggs Benedict, or the more exotic Huevos Rancheros.

If you are after somewhere with a chilled and chic vibe for brunch, then Lloyd’s Lounge is definitely a winner. Opt for the Proper Brekkie with scrambled or poached eggs, bacon, sausage, cherry vine tomatoes, baked beans, and toast. Celebrating a special occasion? Order some fizz!

For those of you who love nothing more than hosting friends on a weekend, treat yourself to a new recipe book to source some tasty inspiration. This Posh Pancakes book from Oliver Bonas is full of great ideas, such as Almond Pancakes with Honey and Berries, or Courgette and Halloumi Pancakes.

Head to Starbucks for a wide choice of express breakfast options, such as a vegan burrito, or a smoked bacon roll. We know that the promise of a Starbucks latte would always tempt us out of bed.
